A Better Way to Prepare for Exams

A Better Way to Prepare for Exams
Sleep could prove to be an important part of the strategy for preparing for challenges such as exams. "The fact that sleep provoked slightly more plasticity (connections between nerve cells) than double the amount of exposure to experience – suggests that if you reviewed your notes thoroughly until you were tired and then slept, you'd achieve as much plasticity, or 'learning,' in the brain as if you'd pulled an all-nighter repeating your review of the material," says Michael P. Stryker, Ph.D., researcher at the University of California, San Francisco
Studies have shown that sleep-loss affects learning and memory. When animals and humans are deprived of sleep, they do not perform well on memory tasks.

The Miracle of Green Tea "Better to be deprived of food for three days, than tea for one." (Ancient Chinese Proverb)

Is any other food or drink reported to have as many health benefits as green tea? The Chinese have known about the medicinal benefits of green tea since ancient times, using it to treat everything from headaches to depression. In her book Green Tea: The Natural Secret for a Healthier Life, Nadine Taylor states that green tea has been used as a medicine in China for at least 4,000 years.
Today, scientific research in both Asia and the west is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. For example, in 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.

Why we're Loco for Choco!

We love chocolate for different reasons however taste and smell are priority. The Maya and Aztec people were the first who enjoyed the taste of chocolate. For these people chocolate was not a sweet like we know it nowadays but it was a bitter beverage which was used for religious reasons but also as medicine to treat stomach problems, fatigue, reducing fever and many other diseases. They were convinced that chocolate has a miraculous power which gave them wisdom and benefits to people's health.
Nowadays chocolate is not a bitter beverage anymore but is popular because it's delicious and addictive taste. It smells in our mouth and there are so many different kinds of chocolate that almost everyone loves one of more of these different types of chocolate. Chocolate is rich in calories and sugars but offers also some health benefits which declare the different reasons why people love chocolate.
The most important reasons why we love chocolate are:
Taste
Chocolate is delicious and there is a high variety in different types which give another taste on this delicious sweet. Milk chocolate is probably the most popular one but there are a lot of people preferring some other types like dark chocolate, white chocolate, chocolate with liquor, unsweetened, semi-sweet or bittersweet.
Chocolate is available in every country of the world but there are many differences in the quality. The Belgian chocolate is popular worldwide and has the strongest fabrication rules. Most of the Belgium recipes contain 100% cacao butter and this guarantees an excellent quality and delicious taste of chocolate. Also Switzerland is popular for their delicious chocolate.
*Smell
The aroma of chocolate melts in our mouth and gives an impulse to our brains which transmit the delicious flavor perfectly. This aroma gives us an enjoyable feeling which makes us euphoric. The aroma of chocolate will put us in a good mood.
*Addictive
Chocolate is addictive and works like a drug. Chocolate contains stimulant substances, also called opioids" like caffeine, theobromine and methylxantines which will make people more relaxed.
*Love
Chocolate is also associated with love. Chocolate contains substances which give you a feeling like being in love. Already in the time of the Aztecs there was a common belief that chocolate was a kind of aphrodisiac which provides a healthy sex life. Chocolate is also a popular gift with Valentine's Day. Chocolate love hearts are often bought for expressing their feelings of love for each other.
*Health
Chocolate contains a lot of sugar and fats but also some chemicals which lower the risk of some cancers and heart diseases. Especially dark chocolate contains flavanoids and antioxidants which lower your blood pressure and has a positive influence on the condition of your heart as long you don't exaggerate.
A new study shows now also that chocolate is good for your memory. Chocolate contains the chemical "epicatechin" which improves the blood flow in your brains.
I love chocolate because it is delicious and smells good. The great variation in the different types of chocolate makes it easy to choose the right chocolate for every occasion.
Enjoy this delicious sweet which was in the past the symbol of wisdom
